我個人深信,每個孩子都是獨特而具潛能的,如能讓他們找到自己擅長的領域,加以培訓便能在他們熱愛的領域中成為資優生。認識自己獨特的潛能是一個探索的旅程,最有效的方法,莫過於讓孩子培養閱讀習慣。閱讀能夠讓孩子涉獵多種範疇的知識,讓他們尋找自己感興趣的領域。作為資優學苑董事局主席,一直以來我都致力推廣閱讀,希望讓孩子能從小培養閱讀的興趣。

大概因為資優學生擁有追求完美,喜歡挑剔、改完又改、想法太多的性格特質,不少人認為他們難於合作,是不合群的族類。但是事實是否真的如此? 早前,15位香港資優教育學苑(學苑)學員一同參加了「JA 學生營商體驗計劃2021/22」(下稱JA) ,憑著可分拆及自由配搭的筆記本: 1. 日曆記事本、2. 自由記事本 、3.自定形記事本。用家可度身訂做,創出獨特的記事心情筆記本,勇奪JA「最佳陳列獎」冠軍及「最佳商品獎」季軍,成績教人眼前一亮,到底他們的致勝秘訣在於甚麼?

世界與科技日新月異,黃金耀博士認為不宜過早定性孩子的發展方向,應持開放態度。他以個人成長經歷展示,人生就如馬拉松,起跑線不等於終點線,目的地不斷轉變,小時候的成績不代表往後的發展。最重要是訓練學生的思維,讓他們懂得辨別資訊真假、解決困題。除此之外,同理心、溝通合作等技能亦相當重要,這些是電腦或人工智能暫時仍不能取代的。
