Introduction

The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) endeavours to secure appropriate learning and development opportunities for gifted students aged 10 to 18 currently studying in registered primary or secondary schools (AM/PM/WHOLE DAY) in Hong Kong.
Starting from the 2022/23 school year, the “Principal’s Nomination” is added for students who are gifted in leadership. Each secondary school can nominate one potential student of Secondary 2 to Secondary 4 to the HKAGE. Nominated students are exempted from the Screening Programme and are invited to submit their personal profiles directly for assessment. In the 2024/25 school year, the “ Principal’s Nomination” is expanded to include the visual arts domain. Both primary and secondary schools can nominate one student of appropriate age with visual arts talent in the 'Visual Arts' domain.
In 2026/27 school year, HKAGE will continue to retain the quotas for both the leadership domain and the visual arts domain under the “Principal’s Nomination”. Each secondary school can nominate one student from Secondary 2 to Secondary 4 for the leadership domain. In addition, each primary and secondary school can nominate one student of appropriate age for the visual arts domain. Nominated students will submit their personal profiles directly to the HKAGE for assessment.

17 November 2026 (3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)	Briefing Session(2) (in Cantonese) Introduce the details of applying for the “Screening Test” and the “Principal’s Nomination”. Date & Time: 17 November 2026 (3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) Details will be announced on this webpage in early November. The online briefing session will be conducted in Cantonese. The English PowerPoint will be uploaded to this webpage after the session for reference.
18 November 2026 (12:00 noon) to 8 December 2026 (12:00 noon)	Arrangement for application of “Principal's Nomination” Application Period: 18 November 2026 (12:00 noon) to 8 December 2026 (12:00 noon) Details will be uploaded to this webpage in due course for reference.
7 to 27 January 2027	Submit student personal profile School coordinators submit the students’ personal profiles via the online nomination platform.
19 January 2027 (Tentative)	“Principal’s Nomination” (Leadership Domain) - Interview
Early May 2027	Nomination results announcement and member registration The nomination results are tentatively scheduled to be announced in early May 2027. School Coordinators and parents log in to the Online Nomination Platform to check the nomination results. Parents of admitted students must register to confirm membership.
