The HKAGE Programme Showcase Day – From AI Robotic Arms to Star Charts, Sparking a Unique Learning Journey
Press Release While many students are still making their final preparations for the new school year, more than 350 student members of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE, or the Academy) have already embarked on a distinctive start to their learning year. The Academy held three sessions of "Programme Showcase Day 2026" on 28 and 29 August, offering a diverse range of programme experiences that allowed student members to explore the Academy's various gifted education courses for the coming year – covering areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), astronomy, environmental science, forensic science, art, and creative writing – thereby embarking on a new year of gifted learning.

Press Release (Hong Kong – 20 August 2026) How can we identify opportunities amid times of change? — The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) hosted a meaningful life experience sharing session today, featuring its Board Chairperson, Mr Paul TAI, who also serves as a regional leader of a multinational enterprise. In an engaging dialogue with over 100 gifted students, Mr TAI drew on his own hands-on experience during the pandemic, to share insights on entrepreneurship and the vision of a business leader. He also encouraged the students to embrace "Tech for Good" and apply their strengths to contribute to society.

科技向善:香港資優教育如何為未來培育「有溫度」的創新人才
HKAGE Articles 在剛剛圓滿落幕的香港資優教育學苑(學苑)年度頒獎典禮上,看著台上熠熠生輝、展現卓越才華的年輕學子,眼裡有光,那光芒不僅是聰慧,更是對世界的好奇與關懷,這正是我們所說的『有溫度的創新』的起點。 近年來,人工智能(AI)的發展日新月異。許多家長和教育工作者都不禁問:「當AI能寫文章、寫程式,甚至通過專業考試時,我們的下一代需要具備什麼能力,才不會被時代淘汰?」作為香港資優教育學苑的主席,這也是我與團隊不斷深思的課題。 國家的「十五五」規劃對未來人才提出了全新要求,香港亦正積極推動《中小學數字教育藍圖》並全力建設「八大中心」。這些宏大的戰略願景,最終都要落實到「人」的培育上。 面對2030年及以後充滿未知與變數的世界,我們深信,未來的領袖不能再是只會背誦標準答案的「學霸」,而是必須具備以下核心素質的全面人才。

【Highlight】The Academy Awards for the Gifted 2026
Academy Video The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE) held The Academy Awards for the Gifted 2026 today at the Jockey Club Auditorium, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The Academy presented multiple awards, including the Outstanding Graduate Award, Outstanding Alumnus Award, and Gifted Star Awards, to honour over a hundred gifted students and an alumnus recognised for outstanding performances in local, national, and international competitions. This annual Academy event witnessed award recipients receiving their honours before family, friends, and teachers, creating a touching atmosphere. The theme of this year’s ceremony was “Transforming Giftedness to Achievement”. Dr CHAN Kin Keung Eugene, SBS, BBS, JP, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Gifted Education, served as the Guest of Honour. The event also invited Ms CHOI Man Yee Katharine, Principal Assistant Secretary (Education Infrastructure) of the Education Bureau, Dr LAM Tat Ho Lander, Chief Curriculum Development Officer of the Gifted Education SUpdate Date:2026-08-31
