Hong Kong Young Physicists' Tournament 2027 (HKYPT 2027)

Eligibility

Secondary 1 to 5 Students must only be studying in a Hong Kong registered secondary school (AM / PM / WHOLE DAY)*, and are not registered as a full-time student at any school outside Hong Kong are eligible to apply for the tournament.  (*Note: Only schools listed on the Academy's application platform will be accepted.)  Each school can send a maximum of two teams (consists of 2-5 students each) for the tournament and should have a supervisor as Teacher Coordinator.

Registration (Deadline: 20 November 2026 12:00 noon)

Registration should be submitted via Registration platform by the Teacher Coordinator. A school account has to be registered before the submission.

*Each school can nominate a maximum of two teams for the tournament. Please register each team separately. 

**Please indicate the selected 2 problems when submit the application. (Problems for IYPT 2027)

***Note that the two teams from the same school must not report the same problems in both preliminary and final round, i.e. in total they must report 2 different problems during the preliminary, and 4 different problems during the Final.

The deadline of Preliminary Round application and submission is 12:00 noon 18 December 2026. Please read the Rules and Regulations carefully before submission (Sample PPT Slides).

An acknowledgment email with login credentials to the Platform will be sent to the Teacher Coordinator after your registration has been submitted successfully. Teacher Coordinator needs to login the Application Platform to complete the application and upload the preliminary round submission into a designated One Drive folder. Teacher Coordinator who does not receive the email must contact the HKAGE by the application deadline for verification. 

*Once the application form is submitted, NO FURTHER CHANGES can be made.
